Televisions have commercially been available since the 1920s; however, they were not officially introduced to the public until the World's Fair in 1939. And even then, televisions really were not available until 1948, because World War Two prohibited large scale television manufacturing until the war ended. Since then, televisions are an integral part of every household. The modern individual has become dependent on television for a source of information and entertainment. However, televisions are machines, and machines break down. But what happens when it does? Should individuals buy a new one or just have it repaired?
